What to do next
- Create or claim a Wikidata item for your company or product with its official website (P856), founding date and social profiles. Wikidata feeds Google’s Knowledge Graph and many AI datasets. Only a Wikipedia article needs notability; Wikidata is far easier.
- Publish something citable: original data, a benchmark or a definitive guide. That’s what Wikipedia editors and journalists link to.
Why it matters
DR is a link score, not a visibility score
In Ahrefs’ own study of 75,000 brands, DR correlated 0.33 with AI Overview mentions. Branded web mentions correlated 0.66 and YouTube mentions 0.71.
Entities get remembered
Wikipedia was nearly half of ChatGPT’s top-10 cited sources in Profound’s 30M-citation analysis. A Wikidata item ties your site to a known entity.
Access comes before authority
None of this helps if robots.txt, noindex or nosnippet keeps engines from using your pages, so we check that too.
